The Battle for Buttermilk bridge
Today we wrote to Bolsover District Councils Planners in response to a planning application from Bolsover Land (the new developers and landowners of the Coalite Site) objecting to their application to remodel Buttermilk Lane and fill in the bridge beneath.
While we have no issue at all in the need to remove the hump, and pinch point on Buttermilk Lane, infilling beneath the bridge will sever the possibility of extending Bolsovers Stockley Trail northwards along the disused Doe Lea Branch Line through the Coalite site, connecting Bolsover to Poolsbrook Country Park, and beyond to the Trans Pennine Trail.
